Accounting and Auditing Standards Board of Bhutan (AASBB) as public interest organization continues striving in strengthening transparent and reliable information to the public, investors and other stakeholders about company’s financial position and performance by upholding internationally accepted accounting and auditing standards.
In order to further strengthen and provide platform to all the companies/firms/individuals in Bhutan to promote/facilitate implementation of Accounting and Auditing Standards, share reliable information and enhance growth of professionalism in accounting and auditing field, AASBB intends to introduce Annual Subscription, Professional Membership and Continued Professional Development Program with reasonable fees.
1. Annual Subscription:
Through this annual subscription, AASBB will provide platform to all the companies/firms/individuals in Bhutan to promote/facilitate implementation of Accounting and Auditing Standards, share reliable information and discuss issues related to accounting and auditing standards. All interested individual/institute, other than the practicing accountants registered with AASBB can also subscribe for this with a reasonable fee and get access to AASBB’s portal for discussion/clarification/interpretation, receive a copy of BAS book and other relevant documents.
2. Professional membership:
With the objective of maintaining accounting professionalism in the country, AASBB Secretariat will ensure that all Accounting Professionals are registered with AASBB. This registration will be one of the requirements for practicing accounting profession and getting license for establishing accounting firm. It will also provide platform to be part of a professional network within the country and also international in the future. Through this membership, all registered members will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, codes, ethics and rules. Eligible Professional Accountants can register with AASBB after paying reasonable annual fee.
3. Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
International Ethics Standards Board of Accountants (IESBA) includes maintaining professional knowledge and skill up to the expectations of the client/employer as one of the profession’s core ethical principles. AASBB will promote and provide support in maintaining and developing professional competence amongst all accountants (both professionals and general accountants) through CPD activity in collaboration with relevant organizations. The main objectives will be to ensure continuous education with the latest trends, maintain the professional’s capability to deliver quality services, attain and maintain the highest standards and quality in practice and comply with the continuing ethical requirements. AASBB will facilitate this CPD program by charging a reasonable fee.
